My first stop for my Europe trip was London, where I stayed at a cozy hotel in the Soho area, and by cozy I mean very comfortable. Almost too cozy for my liking as the rooms were tiny. So, keep this in mind when you are traveling, and read the square footage before booking.
The first day I arrived, after a 9-hour flight from Vancouver. I decided to stay in as I was exhausted. I sat in the lobby of my hotel and ate a delicious lamb chop before going straight to bed.
The next day was so exciting as it was time to go for an afternoon tea at Fortnum and Mason, a place my mom had once told me about. Upon walking in, I was amazed at what I saw. The place was huge consisting of so many amazing items. Interestingly, they even had a section for ice cream. The top floor was where the jubilee was located, the decor has a luxury feel, fit for a queen with its Tiffany blues and velvets. I ordered for a mushroom wellington that was indeed something to remember. After that, I had a deliciously creamy black tea with three tiers of sweets!
Now, it was time to walk off all that sugar. I checked out the other three levels of the shop then ventured out into London. It was not long before the sugar crash began, and I headed back to my hotel room to take a nap. I decided to keep it low key and spent the night in the hotel room while having delicious fish and chips (since I was in London after all)
The following morning, I was out for breakfast when I found a cute spot and tried out a North African breakfast dish called “shakshuka.” Possibly one of the most delicious things I’ve ever tried. You should also try this out if you haven’t already!
